Culture Highlight: Innovation in the workplace
One of the things we pride ourselves on here in the herd is that we’re proactive and don’t shy away from work.
If we see something on the floor (metaphorically), we pick it up. There is no “That’s not my job,” but more “how can I continue contributing and supporting my peers?”.
Today, we want to highlight the story of a herd member who embodies this core value: Javair Clarke, Project Manager — Solutions Delivery. Javair joined us in October 2020 and hit the ground running.
Read in his own words how he helped us organize our plethora of digital tools used across all of our operations within his first couple of weeks at Tucows.
Innovation in the workplace

I joined Tucows in October 2020, and it has been a dream come true ever since. Like joining any company, my first few days were spent getting to know my teammates, adding new acronyms to my vocabulary, and understanding the software solutions in place to enable our customers, teammates, and products.
These were particularly important to my role, as I had joined the IS Solutions Team, where my colleagues and I are responsible for Project Management and deploying Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions across the organization.
On my first day at Tucows, my then direct Manager, Daniel Capoferri, expressed how much Tucows values our contributions. If I saw any processes that could be improved, he and, by extension, the rest of the organization were all ears.
After my first few weeks at Tucows, I approached Daniel with the idea of creating the Tucows Tools Inventory, a visible, centralized inventory of all tools used across the different lines of businesses. This project aimed to increase tool consolidation and solution discounts, saving us capital in the long run. He responded with a resounding “Yes!”
After a lot of hard work and collaboration, my passion project was completed. The Tucows Tools Inventory is now readily accessible on our Intranet. Today, this tool has come in quite handy and has been leveraged by teams across all business units.
